Here at Oasis we run a range of specifically designed programs designed to help you improve your health and wellbeing.

But sometimes, all that is need is a good chat with some friendly people.

Conversation groups here at Flinders (which have gone by a few different names in the past – Take a Break, Global Conversations) are relaxed, informal opportunities to meet and chat with other students.

There are a number of reasons why you might attend one of these groups:

  • You’re an international student and want to practice your English language skills
  • You want to learn about other cultures
  • You’d like to discuss topics relating to spirituality
  • You are a bit lonely and would like to make some new friends

Don’t worry if you are a bit shy. The groups are facilitated by Oasis chaplains who create a safe and welcoming environment.

Also, don’t worry if you can’t make it on campus, one of the Conversations groups is held online 😉💻

I’ve seen first hand how important simple social contact can be for making your university experience more enjoyable.

So if you are feeling ready to spread your wings a bit and up your social game, consider attending one of the conversation groups.
